In 2009, the Mestizo Arts & Activism Legislative Internship (MAALI) was created by University of Utah professor Matt Bradley to inform students about educational and political pipelines.

The Mestizo Arts & Activism legislative internship provides an opportunity for young students to have a hands on experience within local government. Here students learn about the legislative process, lobbying, advocacy, political parties, how a bill becomes a law, the roles of elected officials, elections, and much more!
